Flexible Working Amendment 2024

  • A reminder that the flexible working amendment comes into force on the 6th of April, 2024.
  • The right to request flexible working becomes a day-one right.
  • Employees can make up to two applications per 12-month period.
  • Employees are no longer required to explain the effect & how this can be dealt with.
  • There must be consultation before any refusal.
  • The employer must respond within two months.
  • Ensure that your policy is current and that your managers are educated.
  • Remind your staff of the “work-from-home survival guide” when agreeing to requests.
